Review of ALARA Object Members should have received an email last week inviting them to contribute to the discussion about the Object. All members will be asked to vote at the Annual General Meeting later this year on the final version produced from these discussions. Several members have already responded, with one raising the question of the title "Object", and whether this title should also be updated. This suggestion requires further investigation and we will advise you when more information is known. See here for more information (members will need to login to open this page). |

Global Evaluative Study of Action Research Presentation cancelled Unfortunately, the continuing travel restrictions have claimed this event. The research team have concluded that it is highly unlikely that they will be able to meet in a single room this year, so they are now concentrating on the book of their research, which they hope to launch in 2021 at an ALARA event. More news to come late this year or next year. |

Ethics Committee Guide Members should also have received an email this week about a project initiative by ALARA to develop a guide for Master and Doctoral students in managing the approval process for Ethics Committees at their university. ALARA Member, Dr Pam Carey, has taken the lead in preparing this guide that will include information, examples and stories of success in navigating the Ethics Committee process. Members (and others) are invited to assist Pam in this project by providing examples and stories. Several members have already volunteered, while others have indicated that they believe this project is a great initiative. If you are interested in helping on this project, please contact ALARA at admin [at] alarassociation.org. |

Administation Assistance Requested
Each role requires between about 2 and 10 hours per month. A full description of the work is available here. ALARA will consider applicants in a volunteer or paid capacity. ALARA also have a number of important initiatives for which we are seeking assistance. These initiatives include developing a marketing plan, helping to create local networks or conversation events in any location where members wish to meet, approaching organisations that utilise Action Learning / Action Research that may wish to support ALARA and its activities, and developing relationships with organisations that will provide benefits to members and the wider Action Learning / Action Research community. A description of the initiatives is available here.
