ALARA Webinar - Insights into PhD Action Research Experiences

The webinar we mentioned last month (25 May 2023) was a success, although with a small audience. A video of the webinar should be available later this month.

The OD Hackathon 2023

ALARA is a supporter of this event, being held on 14-15 June 2023 at Liverpool John Moores University in UK, and virtually. Attending virtually is free, with session times between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm (British Summer Time) - 6:00 pm to 2:00 am, Eastern Australian Standard Time.

Azril Bacal

Azril Bacal Roij is a member of the ALARA Global Strategic Publications Editorial Board, and has a long higher educational career in Peru´, Me´xico, Sweden, and Spain. He was Humanities Endowment Scholar at Otterbein College (1995), and Visiting Lecturer at UCLA (1996). He is currently affiliated with the Sociology Department, taught a course on Dorothy Lee at the Anthropology Department, Uppsala University. He teaches peace education/culture of peace at “Centro Internacional de Prospectiva y Altos Estudios” (CIPAE), Puebla, Me´xico.

Azril is visiting Melbourne (and possibly New Zealand) at the end of June to attend the XX ISA World Congress of Sociology, where he will be presenting on 'Dialogue As a Social Research Orientation and Method within the Framework of Participatory Action-Research'.

Azril is seeking short-term accommodation, and the opportunity to conduct a workshop or seminar while in Melbourne (and possibly New Zealand) as a means to offset some of the costs of travelling to the Congress. If you have any suggestions, or can help Azril, please contact me.

The end of the financial year is approaching (in Australia), which means the election of office-bearers and Committee Group members is also approaching. You will soon be invited to assist ALARA, and the current team would welcome your nominations.
