11th Action Learning Action Research and 15th Participatory Action Research World Congress

Putting Global Collaboration at the Heart of Action Research

The programs for the three locations of the World Congress are being finalised, with Auckland's program on the website, and those for Sydney and Manila expected during this week. Registrations continue, with prices from $60 per day for online attendance, and for two days on-site attendance in Manila, $260, Auckland $395, and Sydney $425 (concessions and single day registration also available). Please advise your colleagues and networks of this event.

The World Congress will be at:

• Auckland University of Technology Sports Performance Research Institute NZ on 18th and 19th September 2025
• University of Technology Sydney on 23rd and 24th September 2025
• Medici di Makati College Manila on 30th September and 1st October 2025
• and online on the above dates.

Webinars

The webinar with Alfredo Ortiz Aragón - Methodologically speaking, what is the (p)AR the world needs today and in the future, considering our biggest local and global challenges? was held on 7 August 2025. A recording of the webinar will be available next month.

Members are invited to contact ALARA about conducting future webinars later this year or in early 2026.

ALARA Future Directions Discussion

ALARA's Board met early this month to discuss ALARA's future directions and concluded that time and energy must be spent on increasing the AL / AR communities' knowledge of ALARA's existence, purpose and activities.

Members wishing to help in this campaign can email admin@alarassociation.org to provide help and suggestions.

Action Learning / Action Research Calendar

The AL / AR calendar of events has many entries of events over the coming twelve months. Please send any news for us to add to the Calendar so that all can see what is happening in the AL/AR communities. If you have any items, please contact ALARA.

ALARA Annual General Meeting

As indicated in separate emails, ALARA's Annual General Meeting will be held on Day 1 of the Sydney stage of the World Congress (you will need to log into the ALARA site to read about the AGM). ALARA is a volunteer-run organisation and the Board welcomes any offers of assistance. Note: you do not have to be a Co-ordinator. ALARA needs people who can offer an hour a month, an hour a day, or anything between.
