ALARA Conversation with Geof Hill - Using singing/cabaret to share research. Publishing Research: The performative agenda, and the role for action inquiry

Abstract: 

All research needs to be shared so that the knowledge gleaned gets to the public and society. In our contemporary world, people are sharing research in ever creative ways and finding that sometimes the creative ways make communicating the research more effective.

Dr Geof Hill (just finishing a four-year appointment with Birmingham City University) first published his auto ethnographic research using cabaret in 1995. In his work at Birmingham City University in the U.K. he has continued to publish in cabaret and has also led a team of researchers using a range of creative tools both to do their research and to share it. 

This conversation will explore some of the critical incidents in that trajectory as well as include some songs!
